ABSTRACT
This study entitled “WRITE-UP: Writing Refinement through Innovative Technology Engagement Using Personalized Blogs among Grade 9 Learners” aimed to determine how blogging could enhance the writing skills of Grade 9 learners at Balanga City National Science High School during School Year 2025–2026. Specifically, it explored the influence of blogging on learners’ grammar, sentence construction, organization, and coherence; examined learners’ experiences and perceptions in using blogging as a writing platform; and identified insights for sustaining writing development through blogging instruction. The study employed a qualitative research design using thematic analysis. The participants consisted of 30 Grade 9-Velasquez learners. Data were gathered through learners’ responses, reflections, and blogging experiences, which were analyzed to identify recurring themes related to writing development and blogging engagement. Findings revealed that blogging positively influenced learners’ writing performance by improving grammar accuracy, sentence construction, organization of ideas, and coherence through continuous writing practice, editing, and reflection. Learners perceived blogging as engaging and meaningful because it promoted creativity, collaboration, confidence, and active participation in writing tasks. Blogging also contributed to reflective learning and sustained writing development. However, challenges such as internet connectivity, limited access to devices, technical difficulties, and varying writing readiness affected the implementation of blogging activities. Despite its limitations to one group of learners in a single school setting, the study provides valuable insights into personalized blogging as an innovative instructional strategy that strengthens writing competence, digital literacy, and learner engagement.
